"...The client had told me a sad story about an old painting of her river house that had been stole from the home while they were away. She was very sad. So, I carved/scraped a quick drawing of her home on a piece of reclaimed slate that i was reinstalling back on her home. We had to Share this- Albert's Specialty Roofing in Richmond Virginia Posted this on Facebook- "...These gals cut slate, popped necessary holes in them, carried them and shingles onto the roof and cleaned up after me. I normally charge huge fees for the schooling, but these students were avid learners, so I didn't even charge for the classes, and even gave a break in price."

A very interesting place and also an unrecognized country. I had a roofing business there for 4 years. Most of the work is done by the Kurds or Eastern Turks. As you can see from the photo they don't like to wear shoes! All roofs are concrete deck with torch down modified. It was booth a unique experience and an incredible adventure."

This is Waldo Beck in Phillips Maine 1938 – He’s clearly on top of the world! Waldo was the founder of C.O. Beck Roofing. Since 1920 this 4th generation family owned and operated business has been based out of Waterville, Maine. Had he lived he would have been 100 this year. "Here is a project we started last Monday. The tear off was an absolute nightmare as the upper roof had six layers of hot mop, and the mansard was made out of 1/8" steel held up by 1/4" angle iron. Pretty rewarding to see the finished product. We did a 24 gauge standing seam, with 24 gauge white fascia and an aluminum seamless straight faced gutter. On to the next one” Nice job D & J Roofing. A friend of the RCS plunged through a soft spot in a roof a few months back. There are so many lessons in this image. It’s a reminder that accidents happen, that roofing is inherently unsafe, to pay a little more attention at the next safety meeting. Our friend Aaron is lucky, he is alive and will roof another day. I would like to give a shout out to Off Shore Shingle in Massachusetts for sharing this photo entitled “A proper felt lid”. What we thought was interesting was the red lines. I asked about it and they responded. “It’s nylon string stapled to the felt to help secure it for weather and for safe walking”. I have never seen this before but it makes good sense. Who else does this?
