Bones and beaks and feathers. That’s not a fun way to die. So I coaxed him with the tip of a screwdriver - come on Mr. Bat , it’s time to evacuate. He hissed and showed his teeth, bit the tool but it was dirty with crumbled mortar. He licked his lips to get the sand off his tongue, and then climbed out. We got one more smile out of him for the photo here, then he fell right back to sleep, no kidding."

"Moss and lichens on a cedar roof is not a good thing people! The moss retains moisture which promotes wood decay and premature deterioration. I took this picture today while inspecting a cedar roof in Easton Pennsylvania along the Delaware River.
