Mike Hicks has been roofing since the age of 16, and President of Hicks Industrial Roofing since 1999. He has been married for over 30 years and is the proud father of three and grandfather of two. Mike is a mentor to a high-school boys group. “I am a roofer by somewhat choice/somewhat default – roofing is what I do but it’s far from who I am.  I am thankful for customers and employees that have enabled me to do a lot of great things for people in need, most of whom never know who has helped.  I’d say I look at roofing as a means of doing good rather than a way to provide a lifestyle. I get a lot more excited about someone I never met, approaching me in Heaven, saying ‘I’m here because of you’, than I’ll ever get about my company or a roof.  Professionally, the one thing I’m most proud of was a key employee answering the question – What do you like most about working at HRI?, and his answer was, ‘The fact that Mike Hicks has NEVER asked me to cut a corner just to put more money in his pocket’.”
