In the article “How Top Notch Roofing Used Local SEO to Quadruple Organic Traffic in the Fraser Valley,” Ben Levesque of Webrunner Media details how a targeted local SEO strategy helped Top Notch Roofing build a strong digital presence from the ground up. The case study highlights how the growing residential and commercial roofing contractor transformed a brand-new website into a consistent source of qualified leads through long-term search optimization and authority building.
When Top Notch Roofing launched its website in early 2024, the company had little online visibility. According to the case study, the site generated fewer than 50 organic visits per month, ranked for only a small number of keywords and had a minimal backlink profile. Despite serving communities throughout the Fraser Valley, including Chilliwack, Abbotsford and Hope, the company lacked geo-targeted content and meaningful local search presence.
Webrunner Media developed a 16-month SEO campaign focused on three primary areas: on-site optimization, local SEO execution and authority development. The strategy included creating dedicated service pages for roof repair, replacement and commercial roofing, along with location-specific pages designed to improve visibility in targeted markets.
The campaign also emphasized local SEO improvements through Google Business Profile optimization, hyperlocal content creation and map pack visibility. To strengthen domain authority, Webrunner Media implemented citation building, guest placements and regionally relevant backlink strategies designed to improve rankings sustainably.
The results were substantial. By August 2025, Top Notch Roofing had increased organic traffic more than fourfold, growing from fewer than 50 monthly visits to more than 200. The company also increased its backlink profile by more than 300%, expanding from 35 backlinks across 14 referring domains to 141 backlinks from 58 domains. In addition, more than 10 keywords ranked on the first page of Google search results, including valuable local commercial-intent terms related to roofing services in the Fraser Valley.
The case study also noted that the campaign generated more than 134,000 Google Search Console impressions and more than 1,450 clicks over a 12-month period. Beyond traffic growth, the strategy helped establish Top Notch Roofing as a stronger regional competitor while creating a long-term lead generation asset that continues to build momentum over time.
For contractors looking to strengthen their local search visibility and generate more qualified leads, this case study demonstrates the growing importance of localized SEO strategies, sustainable digital authority building and partnering with a team of proven experts.
