Atrium Roofing recently completed a residential roofing project using a full Malarkey Roofing Products® system designed to provide lasting protection in demanding weather conditions. The approximately 77-square project features Vista® AR laminate shingles in Antique Brown, supplied by QXO. Atrium Roofing also registered the installation for an Emerald Pro warranty, giving the homeowner the benefits of a coordinated roofing system rather than an assortment of individual components.
“A good roof is a system, not a stack of parts. When every component works together — leak barriers, underlayment, flashings, shingles, and ventilation — you get real protection and peace of mind,” noted Jose Puente, owner of Atrium Roofing.
The shingles are manufactured with NEX® styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) Rubberized Polymer Modified Asphalt, which incorporates synthetic rubber polymers into the asphalt core. According to Malarkey, the formulation helps the shingles remain flexible through freeze-thaw cycles and extreme heat while improving resistance to high winds, wind-driven rain and delamination. Vista AR shingles also carry a Class 4 impact-resistance rating, the highest available rating, adding another layer of protection where severe weather can place significant demands on residential roofs.
Sustainability was another component of the project. The shingles incorporate upcycled tires and plastics, helping divert waste from landfills. On an average-sized roof, the materials represent approximately five tires and as many as 2,000 plastic water bottles. The shingles also include 3M™ Smog-Reducing Granules, which use sunlight to convert smog into water-soluble ions. Their pollution-reducing potential is equivalent to planting two trees per roof.
By combining coordinated system components, impact resistance and recycled materials, Atrium Roofing delivered a finished roof designed to support both long-term performance and environmental responsibility.
