RCAM’s 2026 Golf Tournament brought professionals together for a day of golf, connection and giving back!

The Roofing Contractors of Manitoba celebrated the end of the summer season in style by hosting a golf tournament for their members! Not only was this event a great way for professionals from across the province to meet and network, it also was a powerful force for good.

The entire tournament was centred around a give-back initiative. As RCAM described, “Our annual golf tournament is held in September and is used as our opportunity to give back to our community.” Over the years, this tournament has raised funds and support for the following organisations:

Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation (CRF): CRF is the fundraising entity for the Rehabilitation Centre for Children in Manitoba. The Rehabilitation Centre is “an outpatient facility providing services and outreach therapy in support of children and youth realizing their potential and participating fully in their communities.” Specifically, RCAM’s golf tournament has helped raise money for the Adapted Bike Program, which funds requests for specialized bikes (mobility devices).

Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation: This foundation was originally established in “1975 to advocate for the development of a hospital in northwest Winnipeg.” Today, their mission has shifted to focus on supporting innovative research, treatment and rehabilitation programs aimed at delivering proactive, patient-centric care. In the past, RCAM’s golf tournament has raised funds for their Third Floor Community Health Unit, which gives patients with cognitive and memory needs a safe, comfortable place to stay.

Hockey Education Reaching Out Society (HEROS) Hockey: This volunteer-driven charity provides free ice hockey programming to marginalized youth. Their mission is to “teach life-skills [and create] a safe and stable environment for [kids] to grow, connect and succeed.”

North Point Douglas Women’s Centre (NPDWC): In 2000, the NPDWC was created by the Social Planning Council of Winnipeg with the goal of recognizing “women’s generally unequal position in society, their unique needs and the important role they have in planning at the community level to enhance social, economic and environmental conditions for themselves and their families.” Today, the organisation acts as a “hub where women and their families can gather in a safe and welcoming space, building friendships and providing access to needed resources and programs.”

St. Amant: More than 5,000 people in Manitoba with mental disabilities rely upon the support of St. Amant staff. This not-for-profit organisation offers support in a variety of ways with an emphasis on four focus areas, “Innovation and Capacity Building, Inclusion and Quality of Life, Quality Services and Healthy Team.”
